Project Prayer for the Hindu world, Day 4

Life-giving words of Jesus By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” – John 8:36 Redeeming King, Today, we pray for liberty for those who are bound. Jesus, You came to this earth to “set the captives free.” No doubt, there are many in the Hindu world who are held in chains. They are influenced, possessed and controlled by forces they are powerless against. Lord, break the chains of religion; break the chains of tradition; break the chains o... Read more »

Project Prayer for the Hindu world, Day 3

Life-giving words of Jesus By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’” – Matthew 9:13 Almighty God, We are so grateful for Your beautiful heart of mercy and compassion. You are so gracious toward Your created people. Thank You especially for the cross – the ultimate display of Your mercy. Lord, today we lift up those who do not know Your heart of mercy and Your desire to forgive through the blood of Jesus. We lift up those in the ... Read more »

Project Prayer for the Hindu world, Day 2

Life-giving words of Jesus By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  – John 14:6 Dear Lord, So many in this world have known only one way – the Hindu way. Since infancy they have been raised in the religion of their ancestors. Most do not know that there is another way, the Way – a Truth which alone leads to Life. Apart from You there simply is no other. The way of Hinduism is a path of devotion to gods or goddesses, ... Read more »

Project Prayer for the Hindu world, Day 1

Life-giving words of Jesus By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 “… You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  – Matthew 22:39 One billion people in today’s world identify as Hindu. Let that number sink in. One billion. That’s about 15 percent of our global population! That’s roughly one out of every seven people! That’s a big opportunity, or rather, responsibility, for us as Christians. But what would Jesus have us do? The most Christ-like thing we could do is simply be their ... Read more »

Mission Moments: Peru

The ‘path of the just’ in the Andes of Peru By Jordan Rowley “The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day,” says Proverbs 4:18. And beautiful are the feet of the ones who walk that path – to share the Good News of Jesus. Climbing For Christ’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, has once again been stepping out and shining the glorious light of God’s kingdom in the Cordillera Blanca range of the Peruvian Andes (an area where C4C has been serving for roughly eight years). Though we’ve ... Read more »

Converting the soul By Jordan Rowley The path to Paño. (Photos by Jaime Servat)  “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul,” Climbing For Christ’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, concluded in his latest report, in reference to Psalm 19:7. Jaime knows a thing or two about “converting the soul.” No matter where he goes, Jaime delights to tell those around him about the Good News of Jesus – and many make a decision to trust in Christ.   Most recently, the Lord sent him to the province of Llamellin. “I... Encouragement that goes a long way By Jordan Rowley The demands and trials of life often push us to the point of flatlining – mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. This is especially true when your life is that of a rural mountain farmer in the Peruvian Andes, working hard just to survive, day in and day out.  No matter one’s circumstances in this world, a little encouragement can go a long way. In the Climbing For Christ world, a little encouragement always goes a long way – in distance, that is. Roadside view in Huantar. (Pho... Read more »

Project Prayer: Ramadan 2018

Islam FAQs By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ Day 1: Asking the right questions Climbing For Christ has been honored to stand with numerous ministries and individual believers in prayer during the Islamic celebration of Ramadan every year since 2011. We have spent this 30-day period lifting up our Muslim neighbors from all around the globe. Ramadan begins today and continues until June 14. For the next four-plus weeks, we’ll be taking a look at some basic questions about Islam, such as: Who is Allah? Is Islam a religion of peace? How do Mus... Read more »

Mission Moments: Ecuador and Colombia

Together, we can win more souls By Jordan Rowley Sometimes things simply appear to be impossible. There just doesn’t seem to be a way forward. Perhaps Climbing For Christ’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, experienced some of those feelings himself as he spent the past few years enduring numerous personal trials. But with God all things are possible, and there is always a way forward. As Jaime concluded his latest report with Mark 10:27, I couldn’t help but wonder if some of those thoughts were in his mind. “But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With men it i... Read more »

Mission Moments: Ecuador

Guided by the Spirit Climbing For Christ’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, has long had a burden on his heart to reach out to the lost in the mountains of South America. He is currently serving in Ecuador. This Mission Moment was written based on his latest report.   “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.” – Romans 8:14 Jose closed his eyes one last time on this Earth, only to open them again – in Heaven. Just hours before, this man was dying, heading to an eternity separated from the love of Jesus Christ. B... Read more »

Serving from our knees

GOing in prayer By Jordan Rowley, Climbing For Christ spiritual coordinator With spiritual eyes, I can see men and women of God battling the forces of darkness. They are engaging in a battle that is waged not with earthly weapons, but with God’s weaponry. They advance not on their feet, but on their knees. “Prayer is where the action is,” one mighty man of God once said. It’s true, if we only have eyes to see it. Sadly, prayer is the most underrated and underutilized piece of the Christian’s arsenal. Whether it’s for our own personal needs, for our ch... Read more »

Revisiting Huayhuash  (Photos by Jaime Servat, Climbing For Christ missionary to Peru)  God sent a team of seven North Americans to the Cordillera Huayhuash range of the Peruvian Andes in 2014. Our main objective for that Mission: Peru 2014 was simply to reach out to remote Quechua farming communities with the love and truth of Jesus. The stunning Yerupaja Mountain located in the Cordillera Huayhuash. We were joined by C4C’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, as well as guide Marco Milla. Several months after our expedition, Jaime returned to minister to s... Read more »

Mission: Peru 2018

A hard-to-reach harvest Since our very first survey trip to the Peruvian Andes in May of 2011, we’ve never seen a lack of harvest. During those six Evangelic Expeditions and our ongoing work done by Climbing For Christ’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, we’ve never witnessed a shortage of souls ready and ripe make a decision to trust in Jesus. Rather, the harvest has always been plentiful! “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields,” Jesus declared in John 4:35, “for they are already white for harvest!” All throughout the b... God is always on the move By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ After a season of personal health and family issues, Climbing For Christ’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, was excited to join the Mission: Peru 2017 team in late July and early August. It was a blessed mission during which members of our American, Canadian and Peruvian team saw God move in the hearts of many in the remote Cordillera Blanca range of the Peruvian Andes. (CLICK HERE to see the Dispatches from this expedition). Now, God continues to move in those remote mountains as Jaime spent ... Read more »

Project Prayer: Ramadan 2017

Day 30: The witness God can’t use By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ Trekking into West Java, Indonesia. (Photo by Rendy Bayutrilaksono, C4C Indonesia) We’ve learned a lot about Islam over the past 30 days. We’ve shared some of the basic beliefs of Muslims as well as a few bridges and barriers we face in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. We’ve also seen some personal stories and read about beautiful relationships that God has blessed Climbing For Christ to be a part of. Our hope is that Project Prayer: Ra... Read more »

Project Prayer: Ramadan 2017

Day 22: By all means, save some! By Jordan Rowley, spiritual coordinator, Climbing For Christ While visiting with new friends in Indonesia in January, the Spirit held our tongue when an opportunity to share the Gospel was apparent. We realized that a relationship starting between a brother in Christ and these men will have greater impact than our fleeting chance to declare the Good News. (Photo by Jordan Rowley) The Apostle Paul was a man on a mission. Actually, he was a man on a commission – a Great Commission! Without a doubt Paul knew that he was sent to reach the natio...
