Humla's House of Worship

Climbing For Christ (C4C) has been working in the Far West district of Humla, Nepal since 2012. We've been blessed to encourage our fellow Christ followers, share the Good News with the lost and even offer medical care on our most recent missions. The Lord has been building His Church - the body of Christ - in this remote place. From only a handful of believers in Simikot, Humla's district headquarters, to well over a hundred in the area today, the number of Christians has been growing rapidly! In fact, the church that meets in Simikot has outgrown the small space it rents for worship. God... Read more »

Faith in Action: A Plea for Prayer

Is God really in control? Does He really have the power to move mountains? Did all those miracles in the Bible really take place? Would God really move in the same way today? Chances are the majority of us reading this would answer a resounding “yes!” to each of those questions. But here’s another question to consider: Do we pray like we really believe all those things? In other words, is our faith backed up by our actions? Think about it. If we say we believe that our all-powerful God truly hears the prayers of His people and then He actually moves in response to them acco... Read more »

Mission Moments: ECUADOR

Help in time of need “I am telling you the acts that God allowed in my missionary journey, by His grace.” This is how Brother Jaime Servat, C4C’s missionary to Peru, began his latest report from the field – which for the past several months has been Ecuador. The mission field is everywhere for God’s servants. Whether Peru or Ecuador, mountain villages or an ice cream shop, God’s children are “on mission” wherever their feet take them. Jaime’s February mission report began with him looking for a cup of coffee. “God guided me to a... Read more »

Uganda

A village in the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda. (Photo by Pastor Rich Friday) Once known as the pearl of Africa because of its rich resources, beautiful and fertile landscape, incredible wildlife and many diverse peoples who have called this part of Africa their home for ages, Uganda experienced decades of intense turbulence that nearly led to its destruction in the 20th century. Part of this instability was the result of many tribes and ethnic groups suddenly being merged under one flag after gaining independence from Britain in 1962. These groups can be separated ... Mission: Kilimanjaro 2014 (Part 2) Trip Report

Planting, watering, and God-given growth By Jordan Rowley C4C spiritual coordinator Even prior to departing for Tanzania on Nov. 10, the Lord instilled in me a humbling sense that I would be tasting fruit from work that had taken place long before my involvement. Indeed the fruit was sweet, as the planting and watering has been divinely directed since 1998 – when God first placed the vision of Climbing For Christ upon the heart of its founding president, Gary Fallesen. “We took our first mission team to Kilimanjaro in 2007. During that trip, God intersected the paths of G... Read more »

Mission Moments: Peru

A harvest in the Huayhuash Story by Jordan Rowley Spiritual Coordinator, Climbing For Christ Reporting and photos by Jaime Servat Missionary to Peru, Climbing For Christ Jaime Servat made the three-hour trek to the remote Cordillera Huayhuash village of Chocopampa to visit a woman Climbing For Christ first encountered four months earlier. Esther, who – although never having heard of Jesus – came to Christ during Mission: Peru 2014, lives in a place accessible only by foot or hoof. This was the first time our missionary to Peru had returned to this part of the Peruvian A... Read more »

Pray for the Persecuted

By Jordan Rowley Spiritual Coordinator, Climbing For Christ Many Christians facing severe persecution live in remote or restricted areas with little or no access to today’s modern communication technologies. So it’s hard to know the exact number of our brothers and sisters who are being martyred for their faith in Jesus Christ. A recent statistic from Voice of the Martyrs states that about 176,000 Christians were killed in one single year. That’s 482 Christians executed each day, or 20 fellow believers slain each hour. That’s one brother or sister murdered every th... Read more »

Nepal

Top of the world: 29,035-foot/8,848-meter Mount Everest, left, and 25,850-foot/7,879-meter Nuptse. (Photo by Jim Nowlin, Mission: Nepal 2008) Nepal is home to some of the world's most breathtaking and awe-inspiring mountains. In fact, Nepal claims a staggering eight of the world’s 10 highest peaks. It’s no wonder why climbers from every corner of the planet come to make a bid for many of this nation’s Himalayan summits. In addition to the majestic mountains that make up much of Nepal, the history and culture of this nation are also something very unique to behold. Nepal w... Read more »

As construction continues, God works all things for good Story by Jordan Rowley Spiritual Coordinator, Climbing For Christ Reporting by Jaime Servat Missionary to Peru, Climbing For Christ “I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities.” – Psalm 31:7 (Sept. 3, 2014) Climbing For Christ’s missionary to Peru, Jaime Servat, was back in the Cordillera Blanca Range of Peru’s beautiful Andes yet again this past month. Here is his edited report: Jaime Servat, right, sharing Christ in the village of Mascho during Mission: Peru 2014. This is my mission report during that days which were under patience and healing to some believers, so Praise Him! When I first arrived in Chalhua, I was received by Alisson and her grandmother, Teresa. We prayed together and I gave them some gifts. Project Prayer: Ramadan 2014

Lifting Jesus June 28 - July 27 “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” - John 12:32 Introduction During the Islamic celebration of Ramadan, C4C will be lifting up our Muslim neighbors around the globe - who account for almost 1/4 of the world's population (that's roughly 1.6 billion people). This will be C4C's fourth straight year praying through the 30 days of Ramadan and we ask for you to join us. For Muslims, Ramadan is a special time of fasting and drawing near to the god of Islam. For many Christians however, Ramadan is a speci... Read more »

Saintela well and heading home After undergoing surgery on March 25th to have an obstructive tumor in her mouth removed, Saintela returned to the hospital in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for a follow up visit. Once there, doctors checked on her surgical site and gave her the results of the biopsy from the tumor. Saintela outside the hospital.  “Praise the Lord,” C4C’s missionary to Haiti, Miguel Rubén Guante wrote, “the result of the biopsy is good. She has not bad cancer.” We praise the Lord with Miguel and Saintela for this wonderful news... Read more »
