Mission Moments: Malawi

Seed for sowing By Gary Fallesen Climbing For Christ Heavy rains descended on southern Malawi in late November, marking the start of the planting season. The morning after the rain, Pastor Duncan Nyozani emailed: “People will be busy planting their seeds, but it seems most of the people have no seeds to plant due to hunger. And many were expecting to have rains in December, so please pray that we may get seeds and fertilizer for our farmlands.” Duncan, a Climbing For Christ member since February 2009 and the founder of Searchlight Ministries in the Migowi area, said he needed ... Project 1:27 Malawi

Climbing For Christ was introduced to the plight of Searchlight Orphan Care in Malawi, Africa on Oct. 25, 2009, when a thief broke into the orphanage and robbed all of the children’s food.  Seven bags of maize, two bags of beans, five liters of cooking oil, and 20 packets of sugar. A month’s worth of food for 15 orphans cared for by Pastor Duncan Nyozani’s ministry. God provided through Climbing For Christ, as we were able to wire our Malawi member US$500 to replenish that which had been stolen. But through this unfortunate event, our heavenly Father opened a door. He ... Read more »

Mission: Malawi 2014

PRAY: For continued growth of the church in Malawi, a country said to be three-quarters Christian and spiritually fertile. The Gospel has “penetrated nearly every section of society, and some places have seen local revivals,” according to Operation World. However, Islam also is growing. The Qu’ran has been translated into Chichewa, the people group that Climbing For Christ has been working with in the south. Pray for awareness and training for Christians and a loving witness to Muslims and those practicing traditional religions. GIVE: To the work being done by partner Search... Read more »

Thankful for a roof over their heads

Mission Moment: Mozambique (Oct. 2) The body of believers in the village of Milatu, Mozambique is not taking for granted the church roof over their heads. “The congregation is much thankful for the wonderful support to their project,” Pastor Duncan Nyozani said from across the border in Malawi.
