This morning as we were preparing to head for Ranraucro we took a few minutes to visit with one of our team member's friends, Pedro. We learned when Pedro was a young man he struggled with alcohol, gangs and fighting. We were blessed to share the Gospel with him and then prayed with him to recommit his life to Christ. (Please pray that Pedro continues to call upon the name of the Lord for victory over his struggles.)
After an hour-long drive we arrived at the beautiful Antacocha Lagoon, which is serving as our first camp. We then set off on foot to Ranraucro. Trekking through the Cordillera Negro Range, at about 12,000 feet, we were blessed with many ministry opportunities. We prayed for God’s healing for many of the mountain farmers, who frequently suffer from things like injury, arthritis, poor eyesight, and so on. We were also blessed to be a part of bringing many souls to salvation!
In the evening, we planned on showing the Jesus film in the home of one of the local farmers, whom we had prayed over for healing and salvation earlier in the day. However, as we were preparing the electronics the DVD player broke with smoke filling the room. My heart sank. But, instead of showing the Jesus film, we had a blessed evening of worship and the Word. After that, we trekked for about one hour through the dark back to our camp at Antacocha.
We give God the glory for all of the work that was accomplished for His kingdom, and we also give God praise and thanks for every challenge along the way.
