Edwin Milla, right, on the summit of Huascarán, Peru’s tallest mountain at 22,205 feet (6,768 meters).

Nationality: Peruvian. Occupation: Mountain guide. Missions with C4C: Peru 2011, 2013, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024.

How long have you climbed? Since 15 years of age. Types of climbing you do: Ice and rock climbing.

Highlight of climbing career: Climbing Huandoy North (6,356 meters/19,685 feet). I was climbing alpine on a 1,400-meter wall on a rock-fall route. We began climbing at 10 p.m. on an ice route of 60-to-90 degrees, and getting to the top at 12 p.m. And then we took pictures and returned by the same route. We returned to moraine camp at 9 p.m. doing a total of 23 hours with no food and water. I think that it was the first alpine climb on this mountain and it was awesome for me so praise Him!

How long have you been a Christian? 14 years ago. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: In the praise ministry and evangelism.

Favorite Scripture verse (and why): Philippians 4:19. “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Because the man has many needs, but God is providing all needs of all who ask with faith.

Special “God moment” you’d like to share: When I got the Huascaran summit (6,768 meters/22,205 feet) guiding a Japanese unbeliever. In the meantime a snow storm came up on us. So I decided to share the Good News to my climbing partner and he accepted the Lord. Then we prayed after we came down without the storm. And in the high camp he asked for my only C4C cap and I gave it to him.

What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? To me it is a ministry that can carry the message of Jesus to the climbers, farmers and people who live faraway, where many evangelists or missionaries cannot go. C4C is a ministry of many blessings to my life.
