Warming widows with gesture of love

With winter on its way in Malawi, warm jackets were delivered to the widows served by Climbing For Christ’s Damson Samson.
“We had over 150 widows who were blessed to have this support from Climbing For Christ,” Damson said about the May delivery. “In most cases, when you are growing older, your body struggles because of low energy and (lower) immunity. These put the body at higher risk of different diseases.”
In other words, these older adults living in a sub-tropical climate like Malawi are affected by cooler winter temperatures as low as 4-to-10C (39-50F). Damson provided winter jackets for the second straight year.
Damson said the simple gift of a jacket symbolizes “love – even to those who are not considered by the community. (Climbing For Christ’s) support has made many see the true reflection of who Christ is in their lifetime.”
A widower (above) shows the joy of receiving a gift of love, while a blind widow (below) feels God’s hand being placed upon her.
During the group’s Friday night worship “with our loved widows,” as Damson calls them, “I had to share about covenants – stressing how people make these spiritually linked and put themselves in trouble and find themselves hooked by the devil. Many were prayed for deliverance of their souls.
“By His grace there were more testimonies about healing and freedom for these widows – even from various things they were believing, which were not in line with God.”
