Mission: Philippines 2026
Rewriting the ending
By GARY FALLESEN, Climbing For Christ founder
Unfinished business.
During Mission: Nepal 2025 in April, as we celebrated 20 years of doing missions and began envisioning “the next 20 years” of Climbing For Christ missions, I was troubled by the unhappy ending of our work in the Philippines.
We completed 19 Evangelic Expeditions (or short-term mission trips) from 2008 to 2016. Our work was focused on Kibungan in the Benguet province on the northern island of Luzon. School supplies, medical care, and the Good News were delivered in the villages of Dalipey, Badeo, Les-eng, Bekes, and Culiang.
C4C Philippines coordinator and 2009-2014 at-large Board member Ace Concordia oversaw completion of the Kankanaey-language Bible.
Then God called Ace into urban ministry, planting a church in Metro Manila. Ace stepped away from Climbing For Christ, leaving a void.
A successor could not be found to keep C4C Philippines GO-ing. The ministry dried up.
“I feel as if I have unfinished business there,” I told Ace in May. I asked for his assistance in rebooting C4C Philippines.
“You had me at ‘unfinished business,’” Ace said, adding he’d felt that way for years.
We hope to restart what was happening years ago – a fruitful ministry – and finish strong.
HERE AM I. SEND ME! We will GO in late February. Email info@ClimbingForChrist.org if you are interested in serving in the Philippines, where we will explore new leadership, re-energize old membership, and seek unreached people.
