The Legacy of Lygon Stevens

'The Time to Live Is Now'

The Time to Live Is Now: The Legacy of Lygon Stevens is a breathtaking docudrama that shows the experiences of the Stevens family, who lost their daughter and sister, Lygon, to the sudden and unexpected sweep of an avalanche in the Sangre de Cristo (Blood of Christ) Mountains of Colorado in 2008.

Join the Stevens family as they recount the painful events of that tragic day and explore the pages of Lygon’s journal that offer answers to the question: “Why, God?” Gain a better understanding of Who God is during times of trial and loss. Discover how you can trust the sovereign God no matter what you experience in life.

This powerful Day of Discovery program debuted Sunday, Jan. 6 on Ion TV as well as online. Part 2 of this four-part docudrama aired Sunday, Jan. 13. Part 3 airs Sunday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 a.m. Eastern and Pacific, 6:30 a.m. Central and Mountain time, and Part 4 will be on Sunday, Jan. 27. A DVD of the four-part series is available online.

The Stevens family hails from Loveland, CO and have been members of Climbing For Christ since 2006. Nick Stevens, Lygon’s father, served on Mission: Haiti 2007, and Lygon and her brother Nicklis served on Mission: Denali 2007. Lygon was only a teenager at the time, and summited Mount McKinley (Denali) during that Evangelic Expedition.

Jim Doenges, a former Climbing For Christ staffer and the current Outdoor Leadership Director at Colorado Christian University, served as the technical director for The Time to Live is Now, which was produced by RBC Ministries. Mick Scarpella, another C4C member from Colorado, also was the docudrama's mountain locations scout and support.

Sarah Stevens, Lygon’s mother, narrates much of the program. Sadly, she died just before Christmas after a battle with cancer. Family members play themselves in the program, and the Stevens' youngest daughter Lexy portrayed Lygon in the reenactments.
