Snowshoeing for the birds
By Diane Sturmer
Thirty of us from the Rochester and Buffalo areas enjoyed a great time on the Birdsong Trail at Mendon Ponds Park on Saturday, Jan. 30, as Climbing For Christ and Heritage Christian Services kicked off an eighth year of partnering to take hikes together.
We enjoyed a sweet time of fellowship, feeding Chickadees together, snowshoeing and hiking. The Chickadees were glad to see us out on the trail with open hands of bird seed. After our snowshoe/hike around the trail, we enjoyed the warmth of the Nature Center with hot chocolate and snacks together.
Michael Cavanaugh opened with a prayer. Larry from Claire Court and Janis from Winton Road led us in Amazing Grace. Everyone shared great things that God was doing in their life and we talked about the importance of having prayer partners for each other and for Climbing For Christ.
Gary Fallesen told about adventures from his recent mission trip to the Philippines. He also shared some of the trips that will be coming up in 2016.
Larry from Claire Court shared People need the Lord in song with all of us. Chad from Winton apartments closed us out with a prayer. A great memory among friends!
