Code Red: Search and Rescue

Climbing For Christ

“The greatest sin in the desert is knowing where the water is and not sharing it. We know where the water is!” – Anonymous pastor in the Middle East on the church today

What’s your sense of urgency? What moves you to act?

Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). The Lord of lords didn’t ask His followers to think about going. He didn’t say, “Please consider the possibility of going and making disciples of all nations.” He said: GO!

The Great Commission has become the Great Omission as one-third of a socially networked world still has not heard about the One Who sent us. More than 2 billion people are bound for hell having not heard about the Good News of Jesus Christ.

That’s 54 percent of Muslim people groups in the world, 40 percent of Buddhist people groups, and 30 percent of Hindu people groups. Those are percentages of unengaged people GROUPS, not individuals. Imagine the city or town where you live having NO ONE – not a single soul – who had heard of Jesus. It’s hard to imagine. But it’s the real world.

I asked those who are co-laboring with us in His ministry what our most important goal for 2016 should be.

Jaime Servat, C4C’s missionary to Peru, summed it up powerfully:

“Go to rescue more souls around and in the middle of mountains because it is an emergency to bring His great love, which is a blessed promise!”

Amen.

Climbing For Christ CANADA coordinator Brandy Fisher echoed this essential approach.

“The most important goal for 2016 I think is to GO!” Brandy said. “As teams GO, lives are affected and people are hearing the Gospel and being changed by Jesus Christ! We need to GO!

“Our mission statement is: ‘GO into the mountainous areas of the world where other missionaries cannot or will not go.’ The most important thing is to GO!”

Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.” – Jesus speaking in John 4:35 (ESV)

Evangelic Expeditions are forming to GO in 2016. Will you take part in the Great Commission?

Announcing our Mission: 2016 schedule. Participants must be members of Climbing For Christ. A mission application can be requested through info@ClimbingForChrist.org.

Many mountain villages, like this one (bottom center) in Nepal, live in darkness. The mountains have been the stronghold of Satan for countless centuries. “…because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace” (Luke 1:78-79).

PHILIPPINES (January) – We are praying to raise up new leadership for C4C Philippines, which conducted 18 mission trips to the mountains of Luzon from 2008-2014, but none in 2015. We will return to Kibungan in January and prayerfully organize additional expeditions for later in the year. This January mission is for C4C Philippines members only. Space is limited.

MALAWI (March) – We revisit our sponsored orphanage in southern Malawi to share Jesus’s love with the children.

NEPAL (April) – Trekking to unreached villages in the Annapurna region of Central Nepal. An orphanage team also will work with our Project 1:27-sponsored children outside Kathmandu.

PAKISTAN (June) – Trekking into an area closed to foreigners for several years.

PERU (June) – Continuing the work in the Cordillera Blanca.

TURKEY (July) – Returning to Kurdish areas in eastern Turkey on and around Mount Ararat. This trip is full.

KILIMANJARO (August) – Another opportunity to teach guides and porters in the Kilimanjaro Chapter and climb the venerable Mount Kilimanjaro (19,341 feet/5,895 meters).

NEPAL (September) – Returning to the Far West district of Humla for a fifth time. Prayerfully dedicating a new church being built by funding provided by God through C4C.

NIGERIA (November) – Heading back to the Koma Hills to continue ministering to a remote, primitive people.

INDONESIA (November-December) – Returning to one of the 900 inhabited islands previously visited in the world’s most populous M country to work with an unreached people groups.
