Kevin Kimble

Kevin Kimble, a Climbing For Christ Board member since 2010, heads up C4C’s annual food booth at the Hilton (NY) Apple Festival with his wife Laurie.

Nationality: American. Occupation: Retired Machinist from Eastman Kodak Co. (33 years). Missions with C4C: Mexico 2007 and Haiti 2025.

How long have you climbed? I am a non-climbing member. Type of climbing you do: Stairs! Highlight of climbing career: N/A.

How long have you been a Christian? Since 1984. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: Many ministries over the years – from Properties Chairman, Elder of the Congregation, Sunday School Teacher, VBS Ministry. Currently leading the Nursing Home Ministries (with a great team of 20-plus folks). We annually deliver 170 worship services in local nursing homes.

Favorite Scripture verse (and why): All Scripture is GOD breathed and so divinely precious! I suppose my favorite is whatever GOD blessed you with today. I am partial to Romans 8:35, 37-39. This Scripture helps me see that GOD’s love for me (and you) is so over the top that NOTHING in all creation will ever diminish it. Even in my sinfulness HE still loves me (and you)!! All who believe and trust are more than conquerors!! We who follow Jesus Christ will never be separated from HIM.

Special “God moment” you’d like to share: I remember so many of those early lessons as GOD teaches those who follow The Way. It was a Saturday Morning. This event was many decades ago. A summer sprinkle had just begun. My home was missing a very large portion of roof, having been removed the day before. This was the day the big crew was to come and Install. Well, with a light sprinkle, no roofers showed up. Just the guy who was leading the job. We prayed, he climbed up and covered my house with a tarp. And I found complete peace in my heart. THIS WAS THE GOD MOMENT. A threatening sky, a tarp on the roof, and I was at total peace. This would have been so uncharacteristic for me two years earlier. I KNEW that GOD was shaping me into a New Man. A man who trusted HIM!!!!

What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? To me, Climbing For Christ is the DOING part of ministry. Not everybody can be the doing part. Many are needed for prayer, or nothing will be accomplished. Many are needed for financial support to enable GOD’s missions to be enacted around the world. A head office is required for strategic planning and organizing agendas and movements. All these responsibilities are crucial and necessary. In C4C we see aspects of ALL these activities. And we are most specifically blessed by GOD to be The DO’ers. Members in 72 Countries, nearly 3,000 people. GOD has empowered and guided us to GO and DO!!!! THANK YOU, JESUS!!!!
