Tej Bahadur Rokka

Pastor Tej in front of the church in Kathmandu, built miraculously in a short time so they could worship in it for Christmas 2013.

Nationality: Nepali. Occupation: Pastor, full-time climbing Gospel minister. Missions with C4C: Nepal 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

How long have you climbed? Seven years. Type of climbing you do: Mountain climbing.

Highlight of climbing career: Making soft climbs of hills and mountains in remote areas where there is no transportation. I love to climb for Christ because I do it not for adventure, but for removing the mountain of sins from the lives of mountain people through the preaching of the Gospel. I feel strong, bold and courageous to do it when I am with team of C4C. I sense there is covering of the Holy Spirit.

How long have you been a Christian? More than 20 years. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: Church, orphanage, radio, training pastors and leaders, distributing Bibles and audio Bibles, translation and disciple-making ministry I am blessed to serve in Nepal.

Favorite Scripture verse (and why): John 3:16 because I found God's love when I was in desperate need and this verse turned my life to God and it is the foundation of my Christian faith and walk.

Special “God moment” you'd like to share: I want to share something very significant that took place in 2013. As we were praying to build a church in Kathmandu, I shared this vision with Gary (Fallesen, Climbing For Christ's president) and he also joined with us in prayer. We got land and we got some funds to start. At the time we were about start it was halfway of November and I declared and prayed that we will have this facility done by Christmas. Many people couldn't believe and it was true because we had a very short time and we haven't even laid the foundation. At the same time there was an election and not enough funds and hard to get labors on time. But God did a miracle and we were able to finish major part of the construction and we had Christmas celebration exactly Dec. 25, 2013. It was God's doing. Praise the Lord.

What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? It means a lot to me. It is like a staff for me, like a raven for Elijah, like five loaves and two fishes, it is a boat to cross the sea of Galilee moreover it is a tool to go to unreached people where others can't and will not.
