Light in the Sikh darkness

Mission Moment (Monday, Oct. 15, 2012)

Save Pakistan delivered 50 Urdu Bibles to the city of Nankana Sahib, which is a holy place for followers of the religion of Sikhism. Sikhism is the fifth-largest organized religion in the world with more than 30 million Sikhs. This system is monotheistic (one god) and is known traditionally as the Gurmat, which translates to mean "wisdom of the guru."

Nankana Sahib is the birth place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev, whom Evangelist Haseeb referred to as "the dispeller of darkness." Guru Nanak was born in 1469. He was the first of 11 Sikh gurus.

Sikhism was founded in the 15th century in the Punjab region, which covers eastern Pakistan and northern India.

"We are much thankful to Lord, Who gave us the great opportunity to reach out to the Sikh people," Haseeb said. "It was really amazing to be among them. I see that there is really good chance to sow the seed and get good results for glory of God.

"We have handed out the Word of God to all those people who were desiring to have it. I saw the people were much happy to get these Bibles because in the last eight years nobody reached them with the Word of God, and there was great hunger for God among them.

"I praise God and am thankful to Jesus Christ that He is using Save Pakistan to reach the lost souls to bring them to the kingdom of God. We are thankful to God for these 50 new believers who got His precious Word. Please keep praying for them that the Lord would keep them strong in faith and bless them to keep moving them with Him."
