Mission Moments: Nepal
Baptizing them in the Name

An NPR story (“Why Nepal has one of the world’s fastest-growing Christian populations”) talks about the growing church in Nepal. From no Christians in 1951, when Christianity was illegal, and just 458 in 1961 to nearly 102,000 by 2001 and more than 375,000 by 2011, and the latter number might be an underestimate.
Climbing For Christ has witnessed this growth first-hand and we continue to praise God for those He is calling His own.

Brother Megh Gurung returned in January to the Mid-West district of Rolpa, where we were blessed to build one church and prayerfully will have the opportunity to build another. The church God used us to build in 2012 in Korchabang now has 130 people attending. In nearby Dharmashala, the need for a church is, literally, growing.
“I visited and converted some of the people there,” Megh reported. “I am excited with them and encouraged, too.”
Megh baptized 12 new believers in Rolpa (photo below).
