The Board of Directors of Climbing For Christ met Monday, Oct. 14 in Rochester, NY for HIS ministry's ninth Annual Meeting. This divinely orchestrated gathering celebrated the past year and planned for the next year, including work in 13 nations.
Founding president Gary Fallesen welcomed the board and staff, sharing how Joshua 1:9 has been a theme verse for the year. “… Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Spiritual coordinator Jordan Rowley, a worship leader, led the group in prayer and song. “How Great Thou Art,” “I Have Decided” and “Overcome” were the songs shared.
“Power in hand, speaking the Father’s plan / You’re sending us out, light in this broken land.”
– Jeremy Camp, “Overcome”
The devotion was the teaching Bob Goff, author of Love Does, delivered at the 2013 Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit. His message of “Say ‘yes’ to God” resonated with the board of this out-of-the-box ministry.
After reports by staff (Leanne Bohn on development, Brandy Everts on C4C Canada, and Jordan Rowley on the spiritual state of C4C) and board (Ace Concordia on C4C Philippines), Gary Fallesen reported on each of the nations in which Climbing For Christ is ministering. The board then approved a 2014 budget of about $375,000.
