C4C Canada holds inaugural Annual Meeting

C4C Canada’s Board at Annual Meeting: (left to right) Pastor Al Robinson, Andrew Bailey, Gary Fallesen, Aaron Hemphill, Elaine Fallesen and Brandy Fisher.

The final request of the closing prayer of C4C Canada’s Board of Directors asked God to close doors He does not want us to enter and to open doors where He wants us to go.

God opened the door to establishing C4C Canada in September 2012. This branch of Climbing For Christ became fully active in December 2013 and on Saturday, Nov. 1 we held our inaugural Annual Meeting in Pincher Creek, AB.

Board members in attendance: Gary Fallesen (president); Brandy Fisher (vice president and C4C Canada coordinator) of Crowsnest Pass, AB; Aaron Hemphill (secretary) of Pincher Creek; Pastor Al Robinson (treasurer) of Coleman, AB; and at-large members Andrew Bailey (Blairmore, AB) and Elaine Fallesen. At-large member Jim MacTavish of Manitouwadge, ON was unable to attend because of a death in the family.

Pastor Al opened us in prayer, Andrew led us in worship, and Gary shared a devotional on spiritual warfare. After some board business, Gary shared VISION CAST 2014. Gary authored this vision for the second 10 years of C4C’s HIStory after 2½ months of research and prayer earlier this year. It was shared originally with our staff during a retreat in Chicagoland, USA during the summer of 2014 and then with the main Board of Directors at our 11th Annual Meeting in Rochester, NY, USA in August 2014.

That Vision and the map of where the Lord is calling us to serve is what led to the request shared by Aaron during our closing prayer.

We continue to pursue His will for this ministry – in Canada and to the end of the earth – as God sharpens our focus on C4C’s mission:

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF CLIMBING FOR CHRIST IS TO GO AND DELIVER THE GOSPEL IN THE MOUNTAINS OF THE WORLD, WHERE OTHER MISSIONARIES CANNOT OR WILL NOT GO.

The Board also approved a budget of $32,000 ($28,000USD) for the work Climbing For Christ will be doing in 2015. All of these funds are designated for missions.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
