Hayley Fallesen sharing love of Jesus with Kurdish children on Mission: Ararat 2013.
Nationality: American. Occupation: College student, professional ice-cream scooper and babysitter/nanny. Missions with C4C: Turkey 2013, Peru 2014, Tanzania 2014, Malawi 2016, and Nepal 2017.
How long have you climbed? I’ve been blessed to hike mountains of the world since I was a young girl. Type of climbing you do: Trekking, hiking and rock climbing. Highlight of climbing career: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014 and sharing the experience with my dad.
How long have you been a Christian? My whole life. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: Ministry with fellow Christian students (like Kids Club) and playing on a sports team at my college.
Favorite Scripture verse (and why): John 15:9-12 (“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” ) This is one of my favorite verses because it is both a reassurance of the Father’s love for us and a call to love others in the same manner. I strive to find complete joy in Christ and that others would see His joy in me.
Special “God moment” you’d like to share: Interning at a refugee reception clinic in Hamilton, ON, Canada, and hearing countless stories of God’s provision and protection for families and individuals.
What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? A blessing for everyone involved. Those involved in the ministry, as member or staff, and their families. Those who are reached through mission trips who may not have ever heard the good news about Jesus had C4C not reached them. Anyone who just hears about C4C can acknowledge God working through it and realize what a blessing it is.
