Megh Gurung has been added to the Climbing For Christ staff as our missionary to Nepal. We have been blessed to serve with Megh on the past 10 expeditions in his Himalayan homeland.

“I am ready to be a missionary of C4C,” said brother Megh, who reported some good news to us after we returned from Nepal on May 16.

“One family (in Dharmasala, where Climbing For Christ is helping to build a church) came to the Lord. All the fellowship is good in Rolpa.”

Our team spent most of Mission: Nepal 2017, Part 1 in the Mid-West district of Rolpa. We visited Dharmasala and Korchabang, where C4C helped build a church in 2012. (See “The growing church in Nepal.”)

“I am getting news from Pokhara, too,” Megh said, referring to the likely destination of Mission: Nepal 2018. “I heard a couple came to the Lord. I informed (the church there) about Climbing For Christ and C4C raising funds for the purchase of church land. They are very excited, and already started praying for the purchase of land.”

Climbing For Christ needs more than US$9,000 to build the church at Dharmasala and about $20,000 for the purchase of land in Pokhara.

C4C also is supporting long-time ministry partner SARA (Savior Alone Redeems Asians) and Pastor Tej Rokka’s 20/20 vision. Tej, a member since 2009, has set his sights on planting a church in each of Nepal’s 75 districts by 2020. SARA is currently in 15. To do this, Tej is holding regional church-planting training. One is scheduled this month in Gorkha and Tej needs only $600.
