Mission Moments: Nepal

The growing church in Nepal

The first time we met the church at Korchabang, in early 2012, we sat with 35 believers on a cleared hilltop. It was a special moment, and from the start we encouraged this small body to serve the LORD.

“I called on them to be missionaries in this mountainous area and they responded enthusiastically.”
From Mission: Nepal Dispatches on Jan. 31, 2012

The church at Korchabang has always been engaged. Five years after that first meeting, we returned to Korchabang on the recently completed Mission: Nepal 2017, Part 1. We worshiped with about 125 believers in the house that God used Climbing For Christ to help build.

Pastor Dulsar, the former Maoist leader who was born again, has followed the Spirit’s leading into surrounding villages in this remote, hilly part of the Mid-Western district of Rolpa. First to Dharmasala, where we are building another house of worship for a growing body of about 75 believers, and then to start several house churches in other villages.

The latest development was a church plant by Korchabang in nearby Ghapa. About 30 Christ followers from Ghapa have been hiking a few miles to Korchabang every Saturday to worship. But the church at Korchabang is nearing capacity so a new church was begun in a house loaned to it by fellow Christians in Ghapa.

Meeting with the church at Ghapa.

This is an example of church growth. An example of how God is using Climbing For Christ to build churches and build up HIS body.
