Brad Stine in concert
Delivering laughter to the church
UPDATE: Brad Stine performed at a Climbing For Christ fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 4 in Rochester, N.Y. An offering was taken at the end of the event to benefit church building in Nepal. About $2,400 was raised.
Brad Stine was busy pursuing his craft. Or what he called the business of doing comedy. Little did he know that God had bigger plans for him. The Creator of all things, including laughter, wanted Brad to turn his comedy into His ministry.
“A couple years ago God called me into working in churches,” Brad will tell you. “I didn’t really understand that.
“God told me a couple things. He said, ‘I want you to go to My people and be a gift to them because they hurt.’ Comedy is healing. Laughter does matter. Also, He said, ‘I want you to talk to the church, I want you to exhort them, lift them up, challenge them.’”
An evening with Stine is both side-splitting humor and thought-provoking Bible teaching. We were blessed to have him perform for us last January, when he did the “Put a (Climbing) Helmet On” fundraiser.
Now the man, whom The New Yorker magazine dubbed “God’s Comic,” is back for an encore C4C performance. He will be on stage at Climbing For Christ's Base Camp - Rochester, NY - at 8 p.m. tonight (Friday, Jan. 4). Tickets are $20 and available at the door at Hope Lutheran Church, 1301 Vintage Lane, Greece (14626).
