Photo of the Week: Malawi

Every night when I go to bed with a roof over my head, I think of the widows in southern Malawi who aren’t blessed with such luxury. I think of the widows we have met on Mission: Malawi and how we need to do more to help them.

We need US$1,600 to finish four houses for a group of widows who Climbing For Christ missionary Damson Samson has been ministering to since the beginning of the year. So far, we have rebuilt six houses for $2,200.

The photo above is of Agesse Vareya’s house. It was taken April 26, 2016. A few weeks before, Agesse was photographed standing in front of that brick wall at left. That was all the remained of her previous house, which saddened Damson (and us). “People can sleep as dogs in the village,” Damson said.

We were blessed to lift Agesse and others out of the dirt and into a house they can call their own. Hers is one of six houses we have finished. We are working on four more and in need of funding. After that, there are another dozen houses in need of repair.

“…as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” – Joshua 24:15 (ESV)
