Rachel Wall
Nationality: American. Occupation: Collegiate Disciple Maker, Encourager & Backcountry trip leader. Missions with C4C: Peru 2015, 2017, and 2018; Philippines 2013 and 2014, and Mission: Possible 6.
How long have you climbed? Since childhood. Type of climbing you do: Hiking, backpacking, mountaineering. Highlight of climbing career: Peru 2015 pushed my physical limits far beyond what I imagined possible. It showed me the mind is really what stops me in life. That translated back to life at home, inspiring me to continue pushing myself physically and with my faith, not allowing my mental boundaries to stop what God could do.
How long have you been a Christian? Since childhood, but started following in 2007. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: Collegiate Ministry and daily praying “God, open my eyes to see those around me the way You do and give me an opportunity to tangibly show them Your unconditional love.” Every day is exciting!
Favorite Scripture verse (and why): Currently Job 42:2. “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” I have been needing assurance that nothing can stop His plan for my life; in fact it’s going exactly how He intends for it to and it is good.
Special “God moment” you’d like to share: Seeing and being part of five students coming to know the Lord this school year at Fort Lewis College, two of them being exchange students from Japan.
What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? I get to join fellow brothers and sisters in Christ from all different places and walks in life to make HIM known in the harder-to-reach areas in this world.
