The Great Awakening
The Great Awakening
By Elaine Fallesen
Family Ministry, Climbing For Christ
One man wakes, awakens another.
Second one wakes his next door brother.
Three awake can rouse a town and turn the whole place upside down.
Many awake will cause such a fuss it finally wakes all of us.
One man wakes with dawn in his eyes.
Surely then it multiplies, surely then it multiplies.
– Leeland’s The Great Awakening
It was the perfect song to complement the lesson theme of Climbing For Christ’s 2016 mission trips to visit our Project 1:27 orphans in Malawi and Nepal. C4C teams were reunited in March and April 2016 with the motherless and fatherless to teach, play with and love them. We traveled to the two countries on two different continents to share with the children that:
- God has a unique plan for each one of them, just as He did for David, Esther, Joseph, even His own Son, Jesus Christ.
- As God’s sons and daughters they have a purpose – to love the Lord all their lives, and to tell others about Him so that they, too, can be saved.
I’d listened to the Leeland tune dozens of times. And then a few short weeks before we headed out the door, I realized it would become the new song to teach the kids – because it explains how easily the Good News can be shared and how quickly it can spread to a whole village, opening everyone’s eyes to the Truth. Plus, it was fun to sing.
And sing they did. Listen to these young voices from very different parts of the world as C4C’s Project 1:27 orphans praise to the One Who made them and Who commands every one of us to care for them: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” – James 1:27.
The Great Awakening
This was the third straight year we made a music video with our beloved Project 1:27 children. On Mission: Malawi 2014 we sang Michael W. Smith’s “You Won’t Let Go” and on Mission: Nepal 2015 we performed Third Day’s “Soul on Fire.”
If, as you watch our Project 1:27 videos, God speaks to your heart through the least of these His children, please help support one of the orphans still awaiting a sponsor. CLICK HERE for Project 1:27 Nepal or HERE for Malawi. For more information email info@climbingforchrist.org.
