HIStory

The newspaper El Nacional recognized Climbing For Christ in its Jan. 31, 2009 issue as an official organization in the Dominican Republic. This was part of the “legalization” of Climbing For Christ in the DR. Climbing For Christ is recognized as a Christian community/religious/ educational organization. The hope was that such recognition would make working in the Dominican Republic easier, and halt incidents like the Jan. 14, 2009 deportation of Haitian pastors attending our monthly seminary in the border town of Jimini, where our missionary to Haiti (Miguel Rubén Guante) lives. Climbing For Christ filed for legalization on Jan. 19, 2009.
