How long have you climbed? Since 1996. Type of climbing you do: Mostly hiking/trekking and mountaineering. Highlight of climbing career: Being called by God in 1998 to start Climbing For Christ.

How long have you been a Christian? Since 1983. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: The Acts 2 church.

Favorite Scripture verse (and why): John 15:5. “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” This is one of my life verses.

Special “God moment” you’d like to share: The first mission to Haiti in the summer of 2005 was when we unknowingly climbed to Gentilhomme and met a pastor who said he’d been praying for two years for God to send help, and I got God bumps because I knew we were that help. We built our first church there. It was the beginning. We built two more churches in Haiti, five in Nepal, one each in Mozambique and Peru, and we are working on our first in Pakistan. Building up the church (the body of Christ) and building churches is a primary goal.

What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? It’s ALL about Him! It’s from Him and through Him and for Him, as it says in Romans 11:36. And it is because of Him that we are sent where others will not or cannot go. “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples” (John 15:8). To God alone be the glory — forever and ever. Amen!
