Mark Erbelding
Mark working on the annual Brian Kimble Memorial Habitat Day in Rochester, NY, USA.
Nationality: American. Occupation: Engineer. Missions with C4C: Malawi 2017.
How long have you climbed? Occasional hikes. Type of climbing you do: Recreational. Highlight of climbing career: Climbing one of the high peaks in the Adirondacks with my sons. Also hiking around national parks in Utah (especially Zion) with my daughter.
How long have you been a Christian? As long as I can remember. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: Teaching adult Bible classes.
Favorite Scripture verse (and why): Two verses come to mind at this time in my life: “The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). A promise of hope and encouragement for any time and any situation. “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). An abundant life is available for me right now, not just after I die and enter heaven.
Special “God moment” you’d like to share: Seeing my children testify and live out their faith.
What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? A special ministry to advance the Great Commission to remote people groups – doing what we can to “hasten the coming Day of the Lord” (2 Peter 3:12).
