Faith-filled prayer delivers

By Gary Fallesen
President, Climbing For Christ

Evangelist Haseeb has “faith like a grain of mustard seed,” as it says in Matthew 17:20, able to “say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible.”

On Friday, Sept. 5, Haseeb sent an email to Climbing For Christ spiritual coordinator Jordan Rowley and me, asking us to pray for a break in the monsoon rains that were delaying his Save Pakistan team’s travel to the Mariabad Mela festival. “Your prayer could make the difference,” he wrote. How humbling to observe such a simple, child-like faith and be reminded of the importance and power of prayer.

The rain and resulting floods that plagued Pakistan did not deter Haseeb from taking 18 volunteers to the annual gathering of tens of thousands of idol worshipers. Prayers were answered.

“Our target was for 30 members,” Haseeb confessed, but due to conditions “we could not take 30 members with us. But it is a great blessing to share that the Lord moved in the hearts of those people who came to get Urdu Bibles for their spiritual growth and strong connection with our King, Jesus Christ.

Haseeb gives instructions to volunteers, above. Below, he shares the Word with a festival participant.

“We went in the field in the shape of three groups to share the Good News about Jesus Christ,” Haseeb said. “Thousands heard the Word of God and hundreds received the Word of God and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.”

The volunteers wore “C4C” T-shirts and distributed Urdu-language Bibles that Climbing For Christ helped Haseeb purchase. We also assisted our brothers in Christ by lifting them in prayer.

“First, two groups went to preach the Gospel to those people who were walking in the festival, and it was perfection according to God,” Haseeb recounted.

“The third group was mine. Thousands of people were sitting in the different places of festival. I preached to them loudly. I spoke out with all my strength. A few people followed me and few did not. But I continuously proclaimed the Gospel. Hundreds started to follow me and came to me to have a Bible for themselves.

“It was adorable to see the passion among the people for the Word of God. It was just amazing. My team members were filled with joy to see the people who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

“We are thankful to Jesus Christ as well as for C4C members and supporters to provide us with Urdu Bibles for the festival. We pray that the Lord blesses you and protects you in every step of life.”

That is also our prayer for those serving the Lord through Save Pakistan. And we know and have seen the strength we have, as it says in Philippians 4:6, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving letting our requests be made known to God.
