How long have you climbed? About 7 years. Type of climbing you do: Mostly hiking. Highlight of climbing career: Summiting my first Fourteener (Mount Evans) was a pretty incredible experience.

How long have you been a Christian? I’ve called myself a Christian my whole life, but I truly came to know Jesus in high school. So, about 4 years. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: Collegiate.

Favorite Scripture verse (and why): Romans 12:2. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will” (NIV). This was the first verse to really speak to me when I started reading the Bible and it’s stuck with me ever since. I think it shows how insignificant the world’s ways are and how God is so much bigger. It’s a good reminder when I am troubled with petty worldly problems that God is powerful and His will is perfect.

Special “God moment” you'd like to share: Coming into college I was very shy and avoided people if at all possible. I had yet to find a Christian ministry to get involved with and probably wouldn’t have looked very hard. I was walking into the Student Union for dinner and a lady approached me to ask if I could take a quick survey. Being grumpy and hungry, I had every intention of saying, “No, sorry.” But instead, “Yeah, totally!” cheerfully came out of my mouth. The lady proceeded to ask me, on a scale of 1-to-10, how I would rate God. I instantly knew He was up to something. After taking the survey she invited me to a ministry event. Since that day God used this ministry to teach me most of what I know about Him and now I am heavily involved serving Him through it. Not to mention the lady I so desperately wanted to avoid has now been discipling me for nearly two years.

What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? God has called us to make disciples of all nations and C4C makes this possible by reaching the unreachable. C4C also provides awesome opportunities for Christian climbers to use their talents for God’s glory.
