After enjoying dinner and fellowship Monday night, seven team members from three time zones in North America dug into the Word and teachings that will be applied to respective trips. We opened with the first of two weeks of daily devotionals and prayer. We then watched Louie Giglio’s study “God’s Passion for God’s Glorification” before an extended C4C teaching on one of the world’s religions about to be encountered by the MP6 team. There was more sharing, prayer, singing (Tommy Walker’s “He Knows My Name” accompanied by the backpacker guitar), and In-N-Out Burger lunch. Both teams have overnight flights out of the country and are eager to go and glorify His name. We have C4C members waiting in the respective destinations to help us deliver the Good News. “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” — Romans 11:36 Introduction The Mission: Possible 6 team, consisting of four members, has been gearing up and is ready to embark on this journey. The Valley, which is the destination point, has been visited twice before and it holds many fond memories and dear friends who we plan to visit. There are many preparations that need to be done before a trip. C4C puts a strong emphasis on not only training physically, but being ready spiritually as well. Prayer is crucial as we ask God to prepare our divine appointments and make our paths straight. Isaiah 40:3-8 says: “A voice is calling, clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness; make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. Let every valley be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; and let the rough ground become a plain, and the rugged terrain a broad valley; then the glory of the Lord will be revealed and all flesh will see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. A voice says, 'Call out.' Then he answered, 'What shall I call out?' All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” After reading this passage of Scripture, one of our returning team members reflected on the geography that this Scripture pictured in the mind. In the Valley, the mountains are high and low, the valley is narrow and broad. There is green grass everywhere; the yaks graze on it. The wildflowers are picture-perfect! As she was praying through the trip our team member asked God to speak to her. Here, she shares what she saw: “I saw a picture of someone stabbing a sword into the ground in the middle of the Valley. The effects of this spread out like waves throughout the Valley. Everyone stopped dead in their tracks and paid attention and were in awe and reverence at what just happened. I felt so strongly that the sword was the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. Together linked with the Isaiah 40 verse and this picture, I felt God saying that every rhema word (spoken word) or logos word (words in the Bible) that has been spoken over this Valley will stand firm, and it will penetrate the people and the glory of God will be revealed. The word of our God stands forever!!!” Please continue in prayer for our Evangelistic Expedition. The team is excited and in anticipation for all that God has in store for these two weeks in May.
