Video: Dapcha Testimony
Krishna Lama met Jesus Christ in Kathmandu in 2006. He accepted the Lord as his Savior. Then, after receiving discipleship training in Pastor Tej Rokka's SARA Church on the Rock, Krishna returned to his Central Nepal village of Dapcha and started a house church.
On Christmas day in 2007, Sumitra Pariyar came to this church with her parents and one brother. Gopal Pariyar needed to carry his daughter to their first Christian worship. She had been crippled for many years after suffering a debilitating fever when she was 7 years old.
The Hindu family had heard that Jesus could heal people. They yearned for that healing power. They knew they needed a miracle.
The church at Dapcha prayed for Sumitra. They asked for healing in the name of Jesus. Soon after, Sumitra took her first steps. She began to walk for the first time in nine years.
During Mission: Nepal 2009, Climbing For Christ member Kyle Austin joined the church's leaders in again praying over Sumitra. She suffered from seizures and bleeding. They asked the Lord to put an end to these ailments. In the months thereafter, the bleeding stopped and the seizures became much less frequent and less severe.
If there had been no church in Dapcha, if the Holy Spirit hadn't moved people like Krishna to give their lives to Jesus, then this miracle would not have occurred. This is the power of the church — the body of Christ.
Climbing For Christ recognizes this supernatural strength. We are committed to partnering with SARA and building the church at Dapcha — both a physical house of worship and the body of believers.
