Chickens for Christ

“We bought over 200 chickens, which were given to (widows in many) villages,” said Damson Samson, Climbing For Christ’s Malawi-based missionary to East Africa. Damson has worked since the beginning of 2016 with widows in villages around the area where he lives in southern Malawi. Climbing For Christ has assisted, providing for sleeping mats and blankets, clothing and food, and crops and houses. Now Damson has started a chicken project, similar to what has been done with the Kilimanjaro Chapter in Tanzania and with pigs for the Mulanje Massif Chapter in Malawi.
Damson said the widows called this “the answer to many of their prayers. This can facilitate many things at home, such as getting eggs for food and meat as well as manure. On the other hand, some will sell them to put to hospital bills, fees for their grandchildren, soap and other things.”
