Jill Stojkovic
Jill playing with orphans on a church mission to Romania.
Nationality: American, but married to a Canadian. Occupation: Director of Family Ministries/College Ministries at Hope Lutheran Church in Rochester, NY. Missions with C4C: Nepal 2012 and 2015.
How long have you climbed? Don't. Type of climbing you do: Walking. Highlight of climbing career: Climbed Big Round Top at Gettysburg.
How long have you been a Christian? Known and loved Jesus all my life. Praying each day I look a little more like Him. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: College, family, women’s, VBS, and church mission trips to inner cities and two to Romania.
Favorite Scripture verse and why: Deuteronomy 33:12. “Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long and the one the Lord loves rests between His shoulders.” God was blessing the tribes of Israel through Moses and one of the ways God has blessed me is through His secure love and the promise of His care. I know that nothing I face hasn’t passed through His hands first. God takes me to still waters and places of rest when I need it the most. And that “peaceful spot” is between my shepherd’s shoulders.
Special "God moment" you'd like to share: How do I pick just one? The birth of our three children, reaching out to lost children in inner-city Los Angeles, conducting marriage seminars with my husband (Pastor Larry Stojkovic). Each moment can be a God moment when we become aware of His presence in our lives. I pray that our trip to Nepal will be one giant God moment that turns into God days, God months and God time forever in eternity.
What does C4C mean to you: Being consumed by the call to go. Following in His steps and having the amazing opportunity to serve.
